Orchids

Orchidaceae is a diverse family of flowering plants with blooms that are often ornate, bright, and flagrant. The family’s members are commonly referred to as orchids and the breadth of the family nearly rivals the number of Osteichthyes (bony fish) and numbers in the order of twice the number of Avian species (birds), with more than 28,000 species comprising about 880 genera. This family, which interestingly contains Vanilla (the vanilla plant, unsurprisingly), also consists of a wide range of commercially and recreationally significant species and cultivars. Since the first tropical species were cultivated in the 18th century, horticulturists have developed more than 100,000 cultivars and hybrids.

Vanda Orchids for Sale
Vanda is a genus in Orchidaceae consisting of numerous tropical species (around 80) with many more cultivars and hybrids. These species originated in tropical Asia and have since been proliferated, cultivated, and hybridized by horticulturists. Vanda orchids are available in a wide range of colors, sizes, and patterns and with the proper care, they may bloom several times per year. These plants in nature grow either terrestrially or epiphytically, which means that proper root care is vital to plant health - they are sensitive to overwatering and the roots should have access to air and light. That said, many Vanda cultivars flourish readily when afforded the proper care and can be grown by novices and experts alike. They tend to do best in warm areas with high humidity.
